Humble beginning of MPM-India:

Our Lord Jesus Christ in his Sermon on the Mount taught his disciples, “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9). Peacemaking is a ministry that the church has been given, and the Scripture is full of peacemaking. In due time the Lord gave us this name with many prayers and some actual work that we did since 1995 in the area of church planting.

In the year 1995 Hiwale and Masih were given call by the session of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Bhogpur to be their first missionaries to the hamlet in Himalayan mountains. At that time both of them were students at Presbyterian Theological Seminary [PTS]. Both of them did an excellent work of church planting, knowing in their hearts that it is the Lord who builds the church.

In 1997 they started publishing Reformed and Presbyterian literature for educational purposes as well as for the purpose of reformed evangelism. The Lord blessed their labor. Many people came to know the Lord and there were three churches planted in India.

In the year 1999, Hiwales (Anup & Promila), Rajkumar, Ameet (the PTS students) felt the need of giving name to their church planting effort; after many biblical thoughts and prayers the Lord gave a clarity of understanding that this church planting facilitating is nothing but the ministry of peacemaking.

We read in the book of II Corinthians 5:18, “All things are of God, who has reconciled us himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;”

All glory be to the Lord Jesus Christ who is faithful with all of us, he has kept us faithful and he has enabled us to work in the area of church planting since many years.

In 2004 the same founding members (Anupkumar Arun Hiwale and Mrs. Promila A Hiwale) introduced MPM-India to Oak Glen United Reformed Church in North America (OGURC-NA) through Mid-America Reformed Seminary in Dyer, IN. The church adopted MPM-India as one of the mission causes of missions.

This work will not become organization in India but rather work with the local churches and supporting churches to facilitate reformed church planting in India and God willing into the neighboring Asian countries. In USA if that is necessary it can be organized. Hiwales are the facilitators and will be accountable to both the local and supporting churches as they work on this greater valued task of facilitating church planting with great humility.

MPM-India’s goal is fourfold; the objectives are Education, Evangelism, Peacemaking and Economic development all these objectives are scriptural and are very effective in witnessing the healthy reformed church planting. We are amazed how the Lord works!!

The goal objectives were worked on since 1995, and they have been organized in the forms of EEPE by Anupkumar Arun Hiwale over the period of last many years. Teaching Learning Events are also unique and they are of their own kind in India, when the founders of MPM prayerfully decided to learn the needs of mission field they realized that the Lord is leading them to organize something more than conference and seminars, so in the due time God in his wisdom gave the opening for Teaching Learning Events [TLEs]. TLEs are special, and the most effective in teaching Reformed and Presbyterian faith to the Indian villege pastors. Seminars and Conferences are all one sided but the TLEs bring greater result of communication.

The MPM-INDIA is Presbyterian and Reformed in her faith statement. It is a mission-work for the Asian Churches. Our Ecumenical relationship is with the Presbyterian and Reformed churches irrespective of their nationality. The MPM-INDIA wholeheartedly works under the leadership of elders and the deacons of the local and supporting churches for the benefit of Asian Church growth focusing Indian churches as the primary focus.

“Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God.” Matthew 5:9

“From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” II Corinthians 5:16-20

To God be the glory alone!
